What do RCF and RPM mean?

RCF (relative centrifugal force): this is the centrifugal force as a multiple of gravitational acceleration and is often referred to as the "centrifugal factor".

RPM (revolutions per minute): this is the rotational speed of the rotor, expressed as the number of full rotations performed by the rotor in one minute.

What is the rotor radius?
The radius (r) is the distance between the rotor axis and the bottom of the centrifuge tube, measured in millimeters. You can find this information either in our radius look-up or in the operating instructions for your device.

The rotor radius is also known as the centrifuge radius, centrifuging radius or rotation radius and is essential for precise calculation of RCF or RPM.
