Simple determination of your centrifugation values
For optimum use of your centrifuge, the RCF (relative centrifugal force) or RPM (revolutions per minute) must be set correctly. You can rely on our calculator to determine these values precisely so that you achieve the best possible results. Our easy-to-use converter simplifies the precise matching of the parameters to your centrifugation process.
Calculation of RCF or RPM: Would you like to calculate the relative centrifugal force (RCF) or the rotational speed (RPM) quickly and easily? Using our calculator, you can obtain the corresponding value to the value you already have by simply entering the radius of your centrifuge rotor and the RPM or RCF value respectively.
What do RCF and RPM mean?
RCF (relative centrifugal force): this is the centrifugal force as a multiple of gravitational acceleration and is often referred to as the "centrifugal factor".
RPM (revolutions per minute): this is the rotational speed of the rotor, expressed as the number of full rotations performed by the rotor in one minute.
What is the rotor radius?
The radius (r) is the distance between the rotor axis and the bottom of the centrifuge tube, measured in millimeters. You can find this information either in our radius look-up or in the operating instructions for your device.
The rotor radius is also known as the centrifuge radius, centrifuging radius or rotation radius and is essential for precise calculation of RCF or RPM.
Simple calculation for optimum results: our calculator effortlessly performs RCF and RPM calculations based on input of the rotor radius and the corresponding other value. Using the correct centrifugation parameters, you can be sure you will achieve precise results for your application.
Disclaimer: Please refer to the operating instructions for your device or the manufacturer's guidelines for precise measurements of the rotor radius and the exact operating instructions.
