At Andreas Hettich GmbH, our environmental policy combines prevention, resource efficiency, and continuous process optimization to ensure the highest quality standards while safeguarding the environment sustainably for future generations.
Hettich has implemented a climate protection strategy that includes ambitious goals:
A 50 percent reduction in CO2 emissions (compared to 2010).
We aim at being a carbon-neutral company within its direct sphere of influence (with compensation for indirect emissions).
Since the onset of industrialization, humanity has profoundly altered the environment, leading to significant negative consequences. While industrialized nations bear a substantial share of this responsibility, the increasing awareness and initiatives demonstrate that meaningful change is imperative.
At Andreas Hettich GmbH, our environmental policy prioritizes the prevention and minimization of burdens on future generations. Continuous improvement in our processes and resource efficiency is essential to achieving this goal.
Sustainability is a core principle of our corporate philosophy, ensuring that our products benefit people without causing harm. Our employees are expected to uphold these ethical standards, influence our customers positively, and hold our suppliers accountable.

To achieve our set goals, we have developed key program areas. Here are some exemplary initiatives:
Through the photovoltaic facade of the administrative building and other installations, Hettich, along with a combined heat and power plant, produces 11% of its annual electricity needs. The remaining demand is offset by certified green energy.
In 2021, we transitioned our entire vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric models and installed 18 charging stations at our headquarters.
As part of an extensive renovation, we have upgraded our production facilities to modern LED lighting. This measure significantly reduces our energy consumption and lowers CO2 emissions. Additionally, LED technology enhances light quality, improving working conditions for our employees. With this initiative, we take another step toward a more environmentally friendly and efficient production process.
Since mid-2022, Andreas Hettich GmbH has joined the initiative for "Carbon Neutral Websites."
Together with over 2,500 companies, we support the implementation of global climate projects and offset the CO2 emissions generated by your visit to our website.
The initiative calculates each company’s contribution based on the average monthly visitor numbers, taking into account the energy consumption of servers, computers, smartphones, and tablets.
Our website has been awarded the initiative’s seal and the "Carbon Neutral Website" certificate, allowing you to browse our pages with confidence.
We encourage our employees to contribute to climate protection. Information and tips are available to all staff through our intranet and our internal “UP2DATE” newsletter. Additionally, we support employees who wish to travel in an environmentally friendly manner:
- At our headquarters in Tuttlingen, we promote sustainable mobility by providing free charging stations for e-bikes, hybrids, and electric vehicles powered by 100% renewable energy.
- For employees living outside the city limits, we cover 100% of the costs for public transportation tickets.
- Through an online platform, our employees can connect to form carpool groups.
